There’s more than one way to approach a sale

Every property and every owner’s situation is different. These are some of the options I’m open to discussing. None of them is right for everyone, and a simple sale is often the best answer.

Some possible approaches

Conventional purchase

A familiar sale. We agree on a price and terms, and you’re paid at closing.

Flexible closing

The sale goes ahead, but the closing date is set around your plans rather than a standard timeline.

Installment sale

You receive the sale price in stages over an agreed period, rather than all at once.

Seller-financed purchase

Instead of a bank lending to the buyer, you do. You receive agreed payments over time, usually with interest, under written legal documents. Some owners like this. Others would rather be paid in full at closing. It comes with risks of its own, including the possibility that a buyer doesn’t pay as agreed, so it needs careful thought and independent advice.

Other arrangements

If you have something else in mind, I’m happy to talk it through.

Before you decide

The legal and tax effects of any of these options depend on your own circumstances. I can’t give legal, tax or financial advice, so please talk to your own professionals before choosing one.

Let’s start a conversation

Email or call whenever suits you. If the timing isn’t right, that’s fine too.
